What is Earth Day?
Understanding Earth Day
Earth Day, observed every year on April 22, is a global celebration that reminds us of the importance of taking care of our planet. It encourages people of all ages to protect the environment through thoughtful, sustainable actions—whether it’s reducing waste, planting trees, or simply appreciating the natural world around us. Since its start in 1970, Earth Day has become a worldwide movement that brings communities together to build a brighter, greener future.
At Little Tree Montessori, we believe these values start early. Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity for our children to explore how they can care for the world through fun, hands-on experiences—like gardening, nature walks, and creative recycling projects. With the guidance of our teachers and the support of our families, we’re helping our little ones build a deep love for nature and understand the role they can play in making the planet a better place for everyone.
什麼是地球日？
每年的 4月22日 是全世界共同慶祝的 世界地球日，這一天提醒我們重視環境保護的重要性，鼓勵大家從日常生活中實踐愛護地球的行動。無論是減少垃圾、種植綠色植物，或是用心欣賞大自然，這些小小的舉動都能為地球帶來正面的影響。自從1970年首次舉辦以來，世界地球日已成為全球性的重要活動，凝聚了無數人為了更美好的未來而努力。
在小樹苗，我們相信這樣的環保意識應從小培養。地球日是一個絕佳的機會，讓孩子們透過親身參與的活動，學習如何關心與保護我們所生活的環境。不論是種植小花小草、戶外觀察自然、還是用創意進行資源再利用，我們都希望孩子們在過程中發現自然的美好，並種下對地球的愛與責任心。
Recycling Awareness
We warmly invite our Little Tree families to take part in our Earth Day celebration by bringing in clean, recyclable items from home. Accepted materials include paper, cardboard, glass bottles, aluminum cans, and select types of plastic. This simple yet meaningful activity helps children understand the value of reducing waste and protecting our natural resources. More importantly, it’s a wonderful way for parents and children to work together and build lasting habits of care and responsibility for the planet. Together, we can plant the seeds of sustainability in their hearts and inspire a brighter, greener future.
資源回收環保意識
我們誠摯邀請親愛的家長和孩子們，一同參與我們的地球日活動，並攜帶可回收物品到校，為地球盡一份心力！可接受的回收項目包括紙張、紙箱、玻璃瓶、鋁罐，以及部分塑膠容器(參考上圖）。透過這樣的親子參與，不僅能減少浪費、珍惜自然資源，也能讓孩子從小建立環保與愛地球的觀念。我們相信，這些小小的行動，將在孩子心中種下美好的種子，為未來帶來正向改變。
Crafting a Earth project
Create Your Own Earth
As part of our Earth Day celebration, our little learners will create their very own Earth Plates—a fun and hands-on art project that helps children connect with the beauty of our planet! Using variety of recycled materials, children will design colorful representations of the Earth. This creative activity encourages kids to express their love for nature while learning about land, oceans, and the importance of caring for our environment.
Through art, imagination, and a little mess, we’ll help our students see how beautiful our world is—and how their small actions can help keep it that way.
作為我們地球日慶祝的一部分，孩子們將動手製作專屬於自己的 地球小餐盤！這是一項充滿創意又富有意義的藝術活動，幫助孩子們以視覺方式與我們美麗的地球產生連結。
孩子們將運用各式各樣的回收素材，創作出色彩繽紛的地球圖案。透過這個動手做的過程，孩子不僅能自由表達對自然的喜愛，也能學習關於陸地、海洋與保護環境的重要概念。
