The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Jie, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. It commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan. As one of the four major holidays in Chinese culture, it is marked by dragon boat races, the preparation of Zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), and various cultural activities. This festival not only honors historical traditions but also fosters community spirit and cultural pride.
